Our Mission and Vision
We have understood from the beginning of this ministry that Christ would have us help build His church by raising the building upon 4 principal pillars:
3. Social Work
4. Christian Business
This is the first pillar which gives meaning to the other three. Jesus Christ gave all his followers a command to fulfill which is stated in the great commission "Go into the entire world and preach the good news to all creation" (Mark 16:15) Also the bible says in Matthew 10:8 "Freely you have received, freely give"
Since its beginning, REMAR has always been preaching in the streets, Market squares, in homes, colleges, prisons, hospitals, etc. As well, we use Evangelistic campaigns, personal contacts, music groups, drama, films and videos and the publishing of leaflets and magazines in order to reach people...
In short, we want to preach and demonstrate the love of Christ wherever and however we can.
Jesus says, in Matthew 28:19-20, "therefore go and make discipleship of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age".
To be a disciple not just an intellectual decision, rather the complete surrender of our body, soul, and spirit to follow in the footsteps of the Master. To be a disciple is also to be a worker. In REMAR we have two levels of training for service. The first and most basic come after a person has accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. This is the school of discipleship, which combines bible study, prayer, drama, music, preaching, and leadership training, with the practical demands of a daily community lifestyle.
The second level is the School of World Mission. Here people are preparing to go wherever the spiritual and natural needs are the greatest. We want to go well trained and able to take the bread of life both in the spiritual way of life and also how to pray, share, give and crossover the language and cultural barriers of the world.
There is where the burden of our hearts finds its major expression. It consist in the giving of practical help, there by carrying out the good works which the bible says GOD has prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10) We find ourselves telling others about the love of GOD which we ourselves have first received. This is no human love, rather the love of Christ, both in us and coming through us, His followers. We have found that in is the love, which is spiritual, sincere, and practical that has touched the hearts of so many drug addicts, alcoholics, delinquents, prostitutes, AIDS victims, Down and out, and prisoners. These days, the prisoners’ authorities in Spain often release certain types of prisoners into our care to complete their sentence in our centers.
Christian Business Enterprises
Running throughout the scriptures is the theme that man should work, not only for the bread he eats, but for "the food that endures to eternal life which the Son of Man will give you" (John 6:27)
REMAR USA strongly believes in the work ethic and those in the various communities are all expected to do some form of work, either in one of Remar USA's own farms, factories or second hand shops, or in part-time paid work outside the community. Thus each individual works towards rehabilitation by learning practical skills.
However, this is where the work ethic of the Christian differs from that of the world generally, as those in REMAR USA do not work for personal profit, but rather to build a kingdom of GOD in the way the apostle Paul worked as a tent- maker.
Inevitably there is a high cost in any kind of social work. Remar USA does not receive regular help from any other institution or government department, and yet almost 12,000 people are being maintained and cared for in more than 1250 centers.
Within REMAR USA all the workers are volunteers, their contributions are a work of love and no salaries are paid either to leaders or workers.
There are two principles objectives in our creation of Christian Community businesses: (1) the people who come learn a practical skill alongside receiving rehabilitation. This is useful not only within REMAR USA, but also in their lives and later on for the benefit of society. (2) All profits from such work are continually re-invested in the work as it reaches out to others in distress.
